Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

I took my daughter to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo today and boy was the temperature warm! The Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit is open now and in this exhibit are moose and mountain lions, Canada lynx, and cute river otters. Her favorite is still the hippo exhibit and she really likes to feed the giraffes in the African Rift Valley exhibit. One of the many great things about the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is that it is one of only a handful of AZA-accredited zoos in the nation that operates without tax support. They depend entirely on admissions, membership dues, donations and grants for funding. Every year since I have lived in Colorado Springs I have purchased a zoo membership.
